Custom home building
Homes built for the site, not the brochure.
Ground-up residences across Colorado’s mountains and front range communities. From $1M, ten projects a year, twenty years of building on the parcels other firms decline.
The difference
The land decides most of what your home will cost.
Every custom home in Colorado is really two projects. There is the house you have been picturing, and there is the parcel it has to sit on — and the parcel is where the budget is won or lost.
We have watched buyers close on a beautiful lot in Evergreen or Summit County and then learn that the septic field will not perc, the driveway grade fails county code, or getting power to the building site is a six-figure line item on its own. None of that is visible from the road.
So we start there. Soil, slope, access, utilities, zoning and entitlement get examined before a design is drawn, and the design is shaped by what the site will carry rather than corrected once the excavator finds the answer.
What we build
- Ground-up custom homes on mountain and front range parcels
- Alpine residences at elevation and on steep or constrained sites
- Legacy family homes designed to be held for decades
- Land advisory for parcels you own or are considering
- Design-build delivery with in-house or your own architects
What we do not build
- Speculative or production housing
- Small projects and light remodels
- Anything we cannot run at the standard our referrals depend on

A 6,000 square foot residence integrated into the alpine landscape — six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a great room with a gabled ceiling over twenty feet high carrying the span without a single column.

Common questions
Building a custom home in Colorado.
How much does a custom home cost to build in Colorado?
Our custom homes begin around $1 million and most land between $1 million and $1.5 million. The site drives more of that number than most people expect: slope, soil, how far utilities have to travel, and what the county will allow can move a budget by six figures before anyone chooses a finish. We give you a realistic range after walking the property, not before.
How long does it take to build a custom home in Colorado?
Design and permitting typically run four to twelve months, and construction commonly runs twelve to eighteen months depending on size and site. Mountain parcels take longer because the building season is shorter and access is harder.
Do I need to own the land before I contact you?
No. Our land advisory service exists for exactly this moment. We will look at a parcel you are considering and tell you what it would take to build there before you commit to buying it, which is far cheaper than finding out afterwards.
Do you build on difficult mountain sites?
Yes, and it is most of what we do. We have built at elevation, on steep grades, and on parcels where access and utilities were the hardest part of the job. Twenty years of building in the Colorado mountains is the reason architects refer us.
Can we use our own architect?
Yes. We work with in-house architects and with your preferred design professionals. Bringing us in during early design is where we add the most value, because that is when a drawing can still be adjusted to what the site and the budget will actually carry.
Why do you only take ten projects a year?
Because a $1 million-plus home needs the builder on the site, not managing forty jobs from a truck. Ten is the number we can run at the standard we want to be judged by, and it is the main reason 89% of our work comes from past clients and their architects.
